Tales From 6th Year: A Revealing Rendezvous
Tales From 6th Year will be a series of one shot stories that take place, not surprisingly, during Book 6. Two are written so far, and I have ideas for two more. They will be
unrelated to each other, and will be roughly canon compatible until the start of each story.

Time For Another Story

It's been rather quiet around here lately. I'm going to do my part to liven things up by posting a 40 chapter story! This is the final one of my three mega-length offerings, Notebooks and Letters. I had intended to post this during the past summer, but here it is now September so I decided I'd better get to it.
Notebooks and Letters is the most ambitious of my efforts; essentially a rewrite of Book 5, 6, and 7, and it took me more than a year to write. It was originally posted in 2007 and 2008. Hopefully it will give everyone something to read for the next month or so.

It's been a hectic semester, for both personal and professional reasons, so I haven't been able to write anything for a while. But over Christmas break I'm going to try to post a few one-shots that I wrote a few years ago. The first couple are in the post-Voldemort AU category, but there are also one or two in the 'tweak something in canon and see what changes' category.

I'm sticking with the Post Hogwarts theme this week with my next story - Conversations In the Aftermath. As it happens, I've written 3 stories that all start pretty much the same way and at the same time. Like the last two (The Road Not Taken and Coming Back), this one begins a few months after the Final Battle. The twist this time is the style - it's pretty much all dialogue. It's a bit of a challenge to follow who's saying what, but there are enough clues that everyone should manage just fine.
Four chapters for this one, so it's in the Short Story category. Enjoy!
New Story This Week!

Lots of readers have wondered when I was going to post a new story on this site, in addition to the older stories I've posted so far. Well, today's the day!
Coming Back, as it happens, begins with almost the exact same situation as The Road Not Taken. Harry is overwhelmed with the pressures of his celebrity after his defeat of Voldemort, and decides he has to leave wizarding Britain. The key difference - he doesn't ask Hermione to come with him this time. But she makes him promise to come back some day. And eventually, he does. This story chronicles their reuniting.
I orignally intended to write it as a one-shot, but it grew enough that I decided to divide it into 3 parts. There will be a week's separation between postings, so the second part will be coming in 7 days, finishing with the final piece 7 days after that.

Hermione's Plan and The Ritual were the last of my Pre - Book 7 fanfics, so everything from then on was influenced to at least some extent by knowing how JKR's version of the saga turned out. Not that I necessarily agreed with her conclusion! It took me a while at that point (summer of 2007) to decide whether to continue writing Harry Potter fanfiction.
The Road Not Taken is my first post Deathly Hallows story. The title is an indication that my vision of how things might go lies in a different direction than the official line.
And Now For a Change of Pace

So now that I've finished the month long one-chapter-a-day posting of Hermione's Plan, I'm going to switch to some shorter stories for a while. This week I’ll be posting The Ritual.
The Ritual is a light-hearted exploration of how Harry and Hermione react to being put into a 'revealing' situation. It is definitely the most adult-oriented of my stories. I wrote the first chapter for fun, and then kept getting more ideas to add to it until it finished with four chapters.
My Next Story - Hermione's Plan

Today I've begun posting Hermione's Plan, perhaps my best known story. It has by far the largest number of 'Favorite' designations of any of my stories. My intention is to post one chapter a day for an entire month (there are 32 chapters total). That may get delayed by my upcoming vacation (a week in Jamaica!) but we'll see if I can manage to post from there or have my daughter post while I'm gone. Hope you all enjoy reading (or rereading) this story.

Another Posting - Dear Ginny

The story for this week, Dear Ginny, is a multi-part series of letters from Harry to Ginny beginning in the summer after 6th year, as he, Hermione, and Ron set off on the Horcrux hunt. I've consolidated them somewhat, from the original 16 chapters down to 7. This was my first experimentation with a different writing style, telling the story solely through a series of letters. Happy Birthday to me!
Today is the day I 'go live' as they call it here. I'm initiating my site here on fanficauthors.net with the first two stories I ever wrote. And as it turns out they're the longest and the shortest ones I've written so far.
Soul Searching and it's sequel End Game combine for a >300,000 word epic tale; Greater Love comprises a single scene of less than 1000 words.
I thought I'd give you time to digest these, and then post another one next week.
