Is the story done? that seemed like a good way to end it as a shor story but i hope you have more planned than that.

Y'know, here I am thinking, "Maybe I should lay off bashing Jimmy so much. He's not that bad of a guy. A little deluded, but that's understandable.". Then I read this chapter, and I think Ickle Gin Gin needs a solid elf boot to the head.

Heh. :-)
It's funny to think on how Ginny's ploy would have failed her so badly had her author not arranged for Harry to so conveniently notice her at the start of book 6. If it wasn't for that authorial intervention, why, Ginny would still be waiting!
> She had known for years that Hermione was completely smitten with Harry but either didn’t realize it or had deluded herself into ignoring it.
There's that 'D' word, funny how that slips in sometimes. :-)
I could have done without Ron's reaction to Hermione's nudity, but oh well.

For some reason this is a favourite 'chemprof' story for me (I re-read this a couple of months ago), even though it's very sexual/physical, something that normally doesn't appeal to me that much (not on its own, anyway). Maybe because Harry and Hermione approach it for a totally altruistic reason rather than the selfish one which would drive most couples. And then they discover along the way how much joy/happiness they can bring the other and how they can - how they do - love each other. I think that's a big draw.
It's also a bit different from the usual H/Hr fare. Typically - at least in the stories I enjoy the most - H/Hr starts out as a ... well, not 'cerebral', they're not Star Trek Vulcans, but as an extension of their platonic friendship, with their emotional connection flowering first/next. And that's fine, that's the strength of H/Hr, something that's totally missing from any other H/X combination. So this H/Hr story is quite innovative in how they tackle the physcal side of things first.
> It was just that … she did love him. She had loved him in the non-romantic sense for years, and now that their relationship had turned physical — now she could see the two of them sharing their lives together.
That's a lovely revelation.
While I'm glad that you took pains NOT to have Harry just give back an automatic (and thus possibly insincere) 'I love you too', I did think his dialogue was a bit clumsy. "Can you explain what you think being in love means?" ... okay, he was brought up in a cupboard, with only the Dursleys as a role model for a married couple - I use that fact all the time to explain how canon!Harry thought kissing Ginny was the ultimate in 'love', and thus why he stopped there, not realising there was so much more possible in a full romantic relationship - and I fully appreciate Hermione's ensuing explanation - but I wish that you'd introduced those ideas a different way. Maybe have Harry semi-joke "I'm not sure what being in love means" rather than "please explain". Or have his response - he's a teenage boy who ended up in the canon thinking his kissing relationship with Ginny was the pinnacle of romance, he thought he knew everything, after all - start out "well, of course I love you, I enjoyed the kissing too!" only to have Hermione act disappointed, him not wanting her to be so, coaxing that explanation out of her - "Hermione, if I've let you down somehow, I would hope you'd be open enough to tell me how" - and then at the end of it still end up realising that (a) he really did 'love' Hermione, (b) he'd never realised her true value to him and (c) he'd had all of that all along.

Dude... I think my plasma screen just melted.
Hot, Hot story.
Ron actually doesn't seem AU at all. Abusive in arguing... check. Jealous... check. Self-pity... check. Unthinking when speaking... check. Eating everything, leaving nothing for others... check. Uncompromising forgiveness from Harry... check.
No need to really continue the list.
Thank you for posting this story.

So, how exactly does this help them destroy a horcrux? And will there be any more of this story?
Chem Prof replied:
The sex-based ritual Hermione found will destroy the Horcrux when they actually perform it. So far they're just doing a 'walk through' so they can be sure to get it exactly right when they do it for real. They'll do that in the next chapter. There are 4 chapters total in the story.

Once again another success in writing. I've read one or two similar one-shots like this but as always your way of characterization comes out so much better. This was a story about discovery and what is right there in front of us with the natural awkwardness of two teens who what more and have finally realized it. Thank you for sharing!

A good read I do hope to see more of this in the future. I would love to see how Won Won reacts to them getting together, and the explosion over Hermione choosing Harry over him. And see how see he leaves them sooner.
Thank you again for a good read.
